New growth
A big thank you to all those who bought My first CD "Music Of The Trees" and to all those New age shop owners who have shown such faith, confidence, and positive attitudes . A big thank you also to Changing World distribution for giving me a go. It's been a very hard year, both musically and personally. My best friend, Mentor, spiritual adviser, and inspiration behind the concept of "Music of the Trees" Steve Evans, passed away a few weeks ago. It was unbelieveable how quickly it all happened. From illness to death in less than 3 months. Just goes to show, you never know how long you have on this earth, so best make the most of it and the wonderful people and things there are on it whilst they are still here! Many other friends of mine have had serious illnesses and have generally had a very hard time of it. Apart from that is...my good mate Martin whose wedding I attended in June in Magdeburg, Germany. Wonderful city, beautiful day, and no punch-ups at the wedding! Can't be bad!
On the music front, co-owner of the Spiritual shop Moonstone, Kathy Smith, was so inspired by some of the tracks on Music of the trees, that she channelled a guided meditation based around the festival of Ostara. She produced a demo, using Ginko and Aspen as the background and I was so impressed that I persuaded her to do it properly in the studio.This resulted in the CD Ostara Guided meditation.
I helped to remaster,print and distribute the CD "Nighthealing" by my good friend John Williams. Not exactly acoustic or organic in the strict sense of the word, but an incredibly uplifting, yet soulful,wonderfully crafted CD.
Then, if that wasn't enough, I collaborated with another good friend, and photographer of the wonderful Music of the Trees cover, Bryan Poole to produce a hindu chanting CD called Daughter of The Mountain. Some of the chants have been sensitively augmented by musical arrangements and performances by yours truly! It's not 100% finished yet but will be in the next few days.
Last but not least, after resurecting my Shamanic drumming workshops, I decided to produce a CD of shamanic drumming, simply entitled "Shamanic Journeys". I will be giving many more workshops this autumn.
Also planned for this autumn is the recording of more tree CDs; a compilation CD called variations of a Nightingale for Mark Coyle of Woven Wheat Whispers folk download service; a possible crystal meditation CD;Another guided pagan CD;a CD of a collection of assorted inspired instrumentals; and possibly a CD of my songs. Just depends on the time factor really and who I can rope in to help me out.
